On October 19, 2017 the City of Sioux City dedicated a new downtown urban green space, Pearl Street Park. A majority of the funding for the park was from Regina Roth, co-founder of BPI, Inc. SIMPCO played a role in the development of the park through a partnership with the Iowa Initiative for Sustainable Communities, City of Sioux City and Downtown Partners. Urban and Regional Planning students from the University of Iowa, participating in the Iowa Initiative for Sustainable Communities, develop the concept idea for Pearl Street Park. SIMPCO is excited to participate in planning projects, such as Pearl Street Park, which help improve the quality of life for all Siouxland residents!
