Floyd River Valley Trail Study
SIMPCO staff has continued to draft and develop the Floyd River Valley Trail Study over the past few months and has prepared a full DRAFT document of the Floyd River Valley Trail Study. The Floyd River Valley Trail Study evaluates options to connect the communities of Sioux City, Hinton, Merrill, and Le Mars by a bicycle and pedestrian trail by recommending safe and secure transportation links for users. The study examines three possible scenarios ranging from a current on-road route, to a future mainline route and possible future scenic route.

Chapter One | Introduction - outlines the purpose of the plan, the naming of the trail and the plan vision goal and objectives
Chapter Two | The Process - identifies the process and results of public survey's regarding data collection on known recreational activities and resources, trail types, and attractions between the communities.
Chapter Three| Trail Determinants - focuses on existing and planning or proposed features that the Floyd River Valley Trail would potentially benefit by linking to or giving uses access to. These features were identified by the public.
Chapter Four | Trail Design and Guidelines - discusses the public survey results that were outline in Chapter Two and the features and attractions that were identified in Chapter Three.
Chapter Five | Information Plan - evaluates the current signage within the region being used to identify shared roadways and looks how to incorporate the existing signage with signage for the Floyd River Valley Trail.
Chapter Six | Implementation - focuses on recommendations and moving forward with the implementation of the Floyd River Valley suggested trail routes.
