Kudos to the Salix Fire & Rescue Department for receiving a $10,000 grant from the Union Pacific Railroad Community Ties Giving Program. This grant will be allocated for the acquisition and installation of two Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) at the city park and community center, aiding first responders during emergencies in these areas. Additionally, the funds will support the installation of ten post mounts along the children’s educational Storybook Trail. These posts will feature books on fire safety, traffic and bicycle safety, instructions on calling 911, as well as a variety of children’s stories.
SIMPCO is proud to have assisted Salix with this award-winning grant application.
