Mapleton Housing and Community Improvement, a branch of the Mapleton Community Development Corporation (MCDC), purchased a property on 8th Street in December 2022. In January 2024, the group partnered with **Homes for Iowa** to bring a new home to the community. Homes for Iowa is a statewide initiative that trains offenders in skilled trades, reduces recidivism, and helps address Iowa’s housing needs. This project was made possible through collaboration with **SIMPCO**, supporting local housing and community development efforts. This home marks an important step toward expanding affordable housing opportunities in Mapleton and demonstrates the power of regional partnerships.
