Mapleton Housing and Community Improvement, a branch of the Mapleton Community Development Corporation (MCDC), purchased a property on 8th Street in December 2022. In January 2024, the group partnered with Homes for Iowa to bring a new home to the community.
Homes for Iowa is a statewide initiative that trains offenders in skilled trades, reduces recidivism, and helps address Iowa’s housing needs. This project was made possible through collaboration with SIMPCO, supporting local housing and community development efforts.
This home marks an important step toward expanding affordable housing opportunities in Mapleton and demonstrates the power of regional partnerships.
