SIMPCO Annual Award Ceremony

On Thursday, June 13, 2024, the Siouxland Interstate Metropolitan Planning Council (SIMPCO) held its annual awards ceremony at the Cottonwood Inn and Conference Center in South Sioux City, Iowa. Karl Elmshaeuser, Executive Director of the Nebraska Environmental Trust, was the guest speaker at the event.
 
SIMPCO Executive Director, Michelle Bostinelos and Sergeant Bluff Mayor and Chairman of the SIMPCO Board of Directors, Jon Winkel, honored the following individuals for their services to the organization and to the Siouxland region.
 

Outstanding Support Award:

– Carol Schuldt, South Sioux City Council Member

– JoAnn Gieselman, Growing Community Connections Director at SHIP

Community Leader Award:

– Beth Bonderson, Village of Emerson Clerk

– Lisa Harral, Emerson Village Board of Trustees

– Pat Somsky, South Sioux City Grant Administrator

 

Community of the Year Award:

– City of South Sioux City, Nebraska

 

Ron Rapp Award:

– Ken Beaulieu, Chairman of the Board of the Dakota Dunes Community Improvement District

 

Skip Meisner Golden Carp Award:

– Keith Radig, Woodbury County Supervisor
