The U.S. Highway 20 corridor in Northwest Iowa and Northeast Nebraska is one of the most highly anticipated transportation projects to be completed in the Siouxland region. This study records the Siouxland region’s economic development opportunities associated with the U.S. Highway 20 corridor that extends across the nation from Boston, Massachusetts to Newport, Oregon. The final completion of the four-lane highway in the Siouxland region creates many opportunities for the counties and communities along the corridor. To ensure that the region is ready to take advantage of these opportunities, Siouxland Interstate Metropolitan Planning Council (SIMPCO) seized the opportunity to conduct this economic development study.
