Your Role as a Rider

To help ensure a safe, comfortable, and reliable experience for all passengers, SRTS asks riders to follow the policies outlined below. These guidelines help protect the safety of passengers and drivers, promote courtesy on board, and support the efficient operation of transit services throughout the region. 

Scheduling and Cancellations
  • Cancellations must be phoned into the SRTS office at least 30 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time. 
  • Failing to cancel a scheduled trip will be considered a "no-show."
  • Riders are responsible for paying the fare for trips resulting in a no-show.
  • Repeated no-shows may result in suspension or termination of services.
Safe Riding Practices
  • Always use handrails when boarding or exiting the vehicle. 
  • Wear your seat belt and remain seated while the vehicle is in motion.
  • Infants and young children must be secured in an appropriate child restraint seat.
  • Service animals are welcome aboard.
  • One Personal Care Attendant (PCA) may ride free of charge when accompanying a rider who requires assistance.
While on Board
  • Drivers are not authorized to make unscheduled stops.
  • Be courteous and respectful to drivers and fellow passengers.
  • No eating or drinking on board.
  • Dispose of all trash appropriately.
  • Limit carry-on items to what you can safely manage without assistance.
Prohibited Items & Activities
  • Tobacco products, vaping devices, alcohol, and illegal drugs are prohibited on board.
  • Dangerous or unauthorized materials, including firearms, explosives, or hazardous substances, are prohibited.
  • Behavior that is disruptive, threatening, or unsafe will not be tolerated.
Service Suspension or Refusal
  • SRTS reserves the right to refuse or suspend service to anyone whose conduct is considered dangerous,  disruptive, or poses a safety concern to passengers, employees, or vehicles.
