Bike to Work Day was a SUCCESS!

SIMPCO’s Bicycle Pedestrian Roundtable and the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce hosted the Sioux City Metro Bike to Work Day on May 17th. This annual tradition takes place each May to celebrate Bike Month which is endorsed by the U.S. DOT and the League of American Bicyclists.  Bike to Work Day encourages people to trade in their car for their bike as they commute to work.  Siouxland cyclists enjoyed a complimentary breakfast, giveaways, prizes, health and fitness vendors, a Sioux City Transit bus demonstration, and all-day BOGO deals from the following downtown restaurants. Brightside Cafe, Buffalo Alice, Hardline Coffee Co., Jackson Street Brewing, and Marto Brewing Co.

A special thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, and especially the cyclists who joined in on the fun! Save the date for next year’s Bike to Work Day on May 16th!

Event sponsors include: SIMPCO, the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Partners, Siouxland District Health Department, and the City of Sioux City.
