Congrats to the City of Le Mars on Receiving Workforce Housing Tax Credits!

Governor Reynolds and the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) have announced over $37 million in workforce housing tax credits for the development of housing across the state. The funding will help 62 housing projects, expected to create more than 2,000 residential units.

One of the selected projects receiving tax credits is the Overlook Apartments project in the city of Le Mars. This project will repurpose a formerly dilapidated site and will feature 100 apartments and townhomes with access to a playground and dog park.

SIMPCO conducted a study on distressed workforce housing communities, providing data that demonstrated a strong economic need for more housing in the Le Mars community.
