Serving public transportation needs throughout the counties of Cherokee, Ida, Monona, Plymouth and Woodbury in Iowa and Southern Union County in South Dakota.

Siouxland Regional Transit System (SRTS) is dedicated to providing public transportation for persons of all ages, including those who may require specialized transportation. SRTS offers a service with direct pick-up and specific-destination delivery on clean, comfortable, ADA accessible buses complete with seat belts. Car seats are also available for young clients!

Service is available to meet the needs of all people, not just a specialized population. Our service can be used for medical appointments, shopping, school and work. Critical medical needs such as dialysis, physical therapy or other scheduled appointments can be easily accommodated. Contract transportation is available for businesses to assist in transporting employees to work safely and efficiently.

SRTS has modern, well-maintained mobility device lift-equipped buses and trained drivers that provide demand-response transportation using a 24-hour advance-notice-requested service.

PROJECT:  SIOUXLAND REGIONAL TRANSIT SYSTEM AND SIMPCO FACILITY, Sioux City, Iowa

NOTICE TO POTENTIAL BIDDERS:

Notice is given hereby that SIMPCO/SRTS will receive sealed bids for construction of the above project until 3:00 PM, local Standard Time, on Thursday, November 18th, 2021.

The Project is described in general as: Construction of 10,736 square foot office area containing private offices, open office area, training area, reception, restrooms, serving kitchen, breakroom, fitness area, and support spaces.  In addition, there is an attached 24,606 square foot vehicle area containing parking, maintenance bay, wash bay, and support space.  The estimated amount for the new facility is $6,000,000.  The project is located at 1467 Highway 20, Sioux City, IA.

One prime contract will be awarded.

Bid Security in the amount of five percent of the bid must accompany the bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

PROCUREMENT AND EXAMINATION OF BID DOCUMENTS:

As many as two (2) sets of printed Procurement Documents may be obtained by Bidders directly from

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Products and materials incorporated in the Work of this Project are exempt from Iowa sales tax and local option sales tax.

Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond will be required in the full amount of the contract.

Work required by the proposed contract shall begin upon ISSUANCE OF THE OWNER’S “NOTICE TO PROCEED”; the Work must be completed with all equipment placed in operation on or before the completion date noted on the contractor’s bid form, subject to an extension of time which may be granted by the Owner.

Contractors shall comply with the following Federal requirements:  Access to Records and Reports, Davis Bacon Act and Copeland Anti-Kickback Act, Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act, Buy America Requirements, Fly America Requirements, Seismic Safety, Energy Conservation, Federal Water Pollution Control Act, Byrd Anti-Lobbying Amendment, Notification to FTA, Equal Employment Opportunity, and other requirements indicated in Bidding Specifications.

SIMPCO reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularity in the bids and in the bidding, and to enter into such contract as shall be deemed to be in their best interest.
